FougereProfessional Experience
David is a research practitioner/manager. In addition to his role as Managing Director of Phoenix Research, David's responsibilities are essentially the design of research studies and surveys, and consultation with clients on the application of research findings.
David holds degrees of BSc in mathematics and statistics, and BA (Hons) in psychology, both from Otago University. He is a Fellow of the New Zealand Market Research Society, a life member of the New Zealand Psychological Society and a member of the New Zealand Statistical Association. He has been chairman of AMRO (Association of Market Research Organisations) 2006 to 2008, and prior to that, chaired the IQS Council (Interviewing Quality Standards) for eight years.
David has conducted many research studies for various parties in legal proceedings. In the words of one consultant he has worked with for a number of years, in this harsh and testing environment, "PHOENIX has never been found wanting".
Prior to co-founding Phoenix Research, David was a Director and General Manager of the Heylen Research Centre. Prior to that he had research experience in the government sector.
"Our people at Phoenix are just plain stunning researchers. Clients tell us that, but it also sometimes jumps out and really strikes you. We had an in-house training session where a visiting presenter asked us to do a quick round of introductions. It was very clear that among us all there is an awesome range of relevant skills, combined with a great spirit of co-operation and support, challenge and stimulation. And life here wouldn't be the same without the buzz of working with really smart clients."
